Browse Search

You can switch to browsing from Advanced Catalog Search by clicking Browse Search.

1. In the Browse On box, type in the search term.
2. If the Library box is available, select the library branch to search under, or select ALL to search all branches.
3. Click or select a database to search in to complete your browse search. Databases may include the following options or others configured by your library.
   
   • Author
   • Title
   • Subject
   • Series
   • Periodical Title

A browse search looks for cataloged headings beginning with the first word of the search string. The search produces an alphabetical list of items matching the search string, beginning with one term preceding the closest match. For example, if you type pottery in the Browse On box and click Subject, the search results could include the following information.

POTTERS UNITED STATES
POTTERY
POTTERY 18th CENTURY PENNSYLVANIA
